WWE reveals strict rules for Drew McIntyre and Karrion Cross match

The WWE’s Extreme Rules Premium Live event card has started collecting, and so far it embraces the theme of the event. Now there’s another addition to the next card, after a fiery in-ring brawl over SmackDown, WWE set up a match between Drew McIntyre and Karrion Kross. Fans actually got a preview of what’s going to happen at Extreme Rules last night, where the bout will be a belt match, and McIntyre looked forward to making a statement by hitting Kross with the belt in the ring last night, though Kross is still better than the encounter.

Cross has targeted McIntyre since his surprise return to WWE, coming back during a SmackDown and hitting McIntyre, throwing him into the steel steps and hitting him with heavy blows to the neck. McIntyre’s attention turned toward Roman Reigns and the then-undisputed WWE Universal Championship, but McIntyre vowed to take on Kroos after he ended his career with Reigns.

They faced off at Clash at the Castle and McIntyre was on the verge of winning a few times, but Cross didn’t miss an opportunity to stand up to him and cause some mayhem, throwing a water bottle at him and distracting him. Solo Sikoa would eventually cost McIntyre the match, but Drew was furious at Kross, too.

He then attacked Cross and Scarlett McIntyre again, with Cross making him wear Cross’s jacket. McIntyre would get some revenge on last night’s show and cause Kroos some pain, but then McIntyre would find himself locked in the same suspension again, and now they’d go one-on-one at strict rules.

The rest of the card has only two matches at the moment, but they both go along with the theme of the event. SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan challenged Ronda Rousey to a tough rules match at the event and then made a statement using a kendo wand and then put Lacey Evans through a top rope table. The other match between Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle, who have been fighting a fierce war of words for a few weeks now. They’ll face each other in Fight Pit, another type of match we’ve seen in NXT brought to the main roster, and Riddle was in that previous match as well.
